Carmel-by-the-Sea is a quaint picturesque village
next to the ocean.. There are art galleries, unique
shops along Ocean Avenue and many courtyards and
alleyways to explore.

Nearby, go whale watching, visit Monterey's famous
17-mile drive along the water, relax on Carmel's sandy
beaches, or participate in other events.

Carmel's primary cultural facilities are the Sunset
Community & Cultural Center, the Harrison Memorial
Library, the Golden Bough Playhouse & the outdoor
Forest Theatre.

From the city-owned Forest Theatre (1910),
patrons can picnic in front of fire pits, hear waves
crashing on the beach, and see Point Lobos in the
distance. Every Fall enjoy the Carmel Shakespeare
Festival.

See the Carmel Mission or stop by Clint Eastwood's
Boar's Breath restaurant. Clint is a former Mayor
of Carmel.
